Overview

The SPRIX Education Foundation conducts international research and studies focusing on basic academic skills. In 2025, we conducted the "International Survey of Children and Parents on Basic Academic Skills and Learning Attitudes 2025," covering 11 countries around the world. Our Japanese website publishes full reports primarily centered on Japan. This English site features summaries for participating countries, as well as selected Japanese research useful for a global audience.

About Us

Chairman’s Message

For many years, SPRIX has supported the younger generation through education, helping them build their own futures.

Today, however, Japan's declining birthrate is accelerating, consequently diminishing the number of young people who will lead our society. At the same time, rising living costs and rapid social change have had a serious impact on children and students in need of support. When adequate educational opportunities cannot be secured, their future prospects—including access to higher education and stable employment—are significantly constrained. These challenges are complex and cannot be solved by financial assistance alone.

In recent years, researchers and support organizations have gradually brought these issues to public attention. Yet we continue to see a lack of effective measures to support vulnerable children and students.

Our Foundation addresses these challenges through two core initiatives. First, we provide scholarships to students facing financial hardship so that economic circumstances do not deprive them of educational opportunities. Second, we conduct research on structural and non-financial barriers to learning, with the aim of providing data and insights that can help society develop more effective solutions. Through these efforts, we hope to contribute to the sound development of the younger generation.
